  • Frontec Hosts Indigenous Supplier Awards

Event showcases partnerships with businesses and communities

This week, Frontec hosted our first annual Indigenous Supplier Awards to recognize and celebrate Indigenous-owned businesses that support our operations throughout Canada. Members of the Tsuut’ina Nation guided us in cultural protocol to begin the event with our 26 award nominees.

Suppliers were nominated in four categories: On-Time Delivery, Quality, Customer Service, and Indigenous Woman Entrepreneur.

Mariana Welsh, Supply Chain Manager, and her team are grateful for the chance to reward the partnerships Frontec has.

"We would like to extend our profound thanks and pride for the opportunity to present the inaugural Indigenous Suppliers Awards. Building relationships with First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities across our operations is a pleasure.”

We are proud to be registered as an Aboriginal Procurement Champion with the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, which highlights the importance we place on creating opportunities for Indigenous businesses. As part of our path towards reconciliation, we support Call to Action #92 to ensure that Aboriginal peoples have equitable access to jobs, training, and education opportunities in the corporate sector.

Tanya Rexin, Indigenous Relations Manager, was pleased to support the event. “We are thrilled to be part of the first Indigenous Supplier Awards and to share this day with Indigenous communities who are partnered with these suppliers and benefit directly from their success.”

    congratulations to our winners!
